The President declares war on -- Arizona

The Obama administration is planning to sue the State of Arizona over its new immigration law. The announcement was made by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as she visited Ecuador. Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona learned of the announcement via an interview Hillary gave to Ecuadorian television.

It's amazing that in the midst of the Gulf oil spill crises, President Obama plans to focus on defeating Arizona's new law. He has no intention of securing the border, but instead he'll harass a state that wants to do something about it. Here's Byron York in the Washington Examiner:

The president has stiffed Gov. Jan Brewer's call for meaningful assistance in efforts to secure the border. And the White House has accused Arizona's junior senator, Republican Jon Kyl, of lying about an Oval Office discussion with the president over comprehensive immigration reform. Put them all together, and you have an ugly state of affairs that's getting uglier by the day.
