President continues to be a hinderance to everyone for whom he campaigns

The elections earlier this week were not good news for President Obama. As in earlier elections, his chosen candidates did not do well. The one marginally bright spot for the President was the special election in Pennsylvania to replace the late Congressman Jack Murtha. The winner was a Democrat who is arguably more conservative than the Republican he was running against. Johah Goldberg has it all in his column on Real Clear Politics:

Obama endorsed Arkansas senator Blanche Lincoln in the Democratic primary, but it wasn't enough for her to avoid a runoff. He endorsed snarlin' Arlen Specter in the Democratic primary for the Pennsylvania Senate race, only to see Specter's opponent, Rep. Joe Sestak, use that endorsement against Specter as proof of Specter's inside-the-Beltway phoniness.
