The Speaker talks about the Slaughter Rule

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi likes the Slaughter Rule because she believes it will protect Democratic members of Congress who don't want to go on record as having voted for the unpopular Senate health care reform bill.

Here is the Speaker in her own words, via the Washington Post:

"It's more insider and process-oriented than most people want to know," the speaker said in a roundtable discussion with bloggers Monday. "But I like it," she said, "because people don't have to vote on the Senate bill."
