The Chair of the House Rules Committee, Louise Slaughter (D-NY), is contemplating a rule that would allow the Senate bill to be considered passed by the House without an actual vote having taken place. Of course it would all be contingent on the House passing a corrections bill that would make changes to the Senate version, according to National Journal's CongressDaily
House Rules Chairwoman Louise Slaughter is prepping to help usher the healthcare overhaul through the House and potentially avoid a direct vote on the Senate overhaul bill, the chairwoman said Tuesday.
First they used backroom deals for Louisiana and Nebraska to buy votes, and now they're working up a tricky rule so they can pass a version of the bill without going to the trouble of conducting a vote. Something is very wrong with this entire process.
