Hoyer says debating health care was not as important as debating our looming debt

If House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Maryland) truly believes that, why would he spend the entire past year debating health care reform when he thinks our looming debt is more important? If he truly believes our looming debt is so important, why would he vote for a health care bill that will certainly increase our debt in coming years?

From The Hill:

"The subject we were discussing [healthcare] was not as important as the subject we're discussing here," said Hoyer at a University of Maryland forum Thursday on the country's fiscal future.
